Maggie My Steam Powered Giraffe fanbot. She talks to dead people.  Her story is currently being reworked.



Scout  She seems to have the most friends out of all of them, it seems!  She has a sweet tooth that often gets her into trouble

Also, you can make your characters public or private, which I think is a nice feature.

Pretty sure that if the focus of a picture is GIANT UNREALISTIC BOOBS, then that picture should be tagged NSFW and have a mature content filter on it.

Same goes for any of that other kinky stuff.  I do not want to see it.  I did not search it.  I keep my mature content filter turned on so I shouldn't have to see it. But in almost any search I make, it is there, without warning.

Now, boobs are not necessarily a problem.  They are a real thing which many people have and are not inheritly sexual.  I get that.  But most of the art that I've seen showing a non sexualized bare breast HAS  been put under a mature content filter.   SO WHY CAN'T THOSE OTHER FOLKS RESPECT THE COMMUNITY AND DO THE SAME???

We all know kids use this site.  13 y/olds are allowed here and this is where most of us started out on the internet.  There has always been stuff of this nature around, but I feel like it's gotten worse recently.   It makes me question if I want to continue using deviantart at the risk of being associated with that.

Also, I've started blocking people who favourite my fanart but whose favourites/ galleries are mostly porn and kinky stuff of those characters.  If tumblr has taught me anything, it's that my comfort is more important than being nice to the people making me uncomfortable.

My inbox has been slow and I've been looking for new artists to follow, do you have any favourites that you could suggest for me to take a look at?  Just link in the comments and I'll check them out.

I'm looking for illustrators, concept designers, environment artists, maybe comic artists, a lot of colour, developed skill; basically people that I can both enjoy the art and maybe learn from while doing so.  Both traditional and digital
Also, it would be pretty nice if they were still active on dA.

I do not want anime/manga artists, violence/gore, arts and crafts stuff

Rules are for chumps.


1.  She died around age 8. Originally it was going to be due to an illness, but now I'm thinking that it was some sort of accident. I'm still deciding when, but I'm thinking it was around the 40s-50s.

2.  Her parents were forced to leave town for other reasons after she died, so she doesn't know what happened to them. (at this point, they've also died, but were buried elsewhere).

3.  The cemetery that she was buried in happens to have been cursed by a witch, so that those buried in it can return to the world of the living (they prefer to do it during the night so the living don't freak out on them) (also the witch is actually super nice).

4. The cemetery is like a really friendly neighborhood or a big family and they all look out for each other.

5.   She has friend named Atta who is a vampire/bat.

6.  She's befriended the gravekeeper's (inexplicably) purple corgi, Paulo.

7.  Despite the unspoken rule of the dead only coming out at night, Louisa likes to explore during the day and sometimes will wander far away from the cemetery.

8.  She was buried with her Teddy bear.

BONUS: Her hair and skirt move like lava in a lava lamp.
